  • 1.     Dr. ZHU Weilie, a Chinese university professor. Professor ZHU Weilie earned his PhD in Arabic from Cairo University, Egypt. He is now a professor at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) in China, the Director of Middle East Studies Institute, the president of Stuides Center of China-Arab Cooperation Forum. He is also the editor in chief of Arab World Studies Journal and a chair of board of directors of Middle East and Islamic Studies.

    He is also a member of many Arab and Chinese translation societies and organizations. Dr. ZHU Weilie is one of the famous translators and researchers that are interested in transferring the Islamic and Arab Cultures into Chinese. He has translated many of the famous works in Arabic, including Khatmil Quran, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, al-Karnak of Naguib Mahfouz, Give Back My Heart of Yusuf Sibai, and the Mask of Hasan Rashad. Dr. ZHU Weilie has authored and edited many books, among them are The Simplified Dictionary Chinese/Arabic, The Dictionary of the Contemporary Arabic Literature, The Middle East: A Hot Spot in the World.

    Dr. ZHU Weilie efforts have contributed to the translation field and to the enhancement of Islamic and Arab culture transfer into Chinese speakers. He has a prominent role in building cultural bridges between Arab and Chinese cultures.
